Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician / Heavy-Duty Diagnostic Tech

Schedule: Full-time — 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM — No remote work

What You’ll Be Doing
Your role will combine diagnostics and hands-on mechanical repair.
You’ll be one of our go-to techs for heavy-duty troubleshooting and accurate repairs.
Daily responsibilities:
- Diagnose & repair heavy-duty diesel engines and commercial trucks
- Complete OEM repair procedures and follow manufacturer standards
- Perform mechanical repairs including:
- Truck brakes
- Radiators & cooling systems
- Suspension & steering
- Electrical & aftertreatment
- Use OEM & aftermarket diagnostic software
- Perform NYS & DOT inspections
- Document all work clearly using our shop management system
- Support and mentor junior techs when needed
- Work closely with a foreman who keeps jobs moving and supports you
What We’re Looking For
These requirements help filter for real heavy-duty experience:
Required
- 5+ years of heavy-duty diesel truck or commercial equipment experience
- Experience with Freightliner, International, Volvo/Mack, Ford, Isuzu, Hino, etc.
- Capable of performing both diagnostics and mechanical repairs
- Familiarity with aftertreatment systems (DPF, SCR, EGR)
- Experience using OEM or high-end diagnostic platforms
- Valid driver’s license (CDL A/B preferred but not required)
- Must own necessary hand tools for commercial trucks
- Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced, high-standard shop
Preferred (but not required)
- CDL License
- Prior fleet or dealership experience
- Any leadership, foreman, or mentor experience

Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
